Today is the kind of day that wears you out.
We started setting up very early -- 8AM -- and I asked the team, "Are you ready to get into some hair?" The answer, of course, was a resounding "yes!" We got to the Model Prep room and found that the Chicago field staff had already set up the room. It was such a nice present from them to us, and really helped us get off to a solid start.
We had another big win today -- Deann Wood was accepted as a Redken Performing Artist. Congratulations Deann!
In our first huddle, we stabilized the group, set the expectations. Told them, "This is how we play the game." For example, these are some of our codes:
Did you know that this year, we doubled our color load? It takes so much more time, and it's a real testament to everyone's talent and hard work that we're still going to finish early tonight. It's not easy to handle the load, but the entire team is so versatile, it almost seems easy. In fact, Myra from the Home Office did color today -- getting that type of support from the Resource Center really helped us through out toughest day.
We got to go down to the show floor and see the stage. Amazing. Every year that I come here, it's everything that I've expected and more. It's such a creative process and so much fun to watch happen.
Other notes from the Show:
A thank you to each and every member of our crew for getting us through today. Tonight we are going to celebrate by going to sleep early. It's gonna be a big day tomorrow.
