The team arrived today and I wish you could feel the energy…it’s amazing.
Today’s main goal was to set up the week and nail down team expectations. We defined what we’re trying to accomplish – more attraction, less promotion. We want people to know how fun and how cool this company is. How great it is to work here. Our attitudes will speak volumes. Cool hair. Similar outfits. Walk as a team. Show, don’t tell.
Everything is going very smoothly. Jackie and I reviewed the prep room set-up and made sure everyone was checked in. My headpiece hasn’t arrived, but I’m not panicking…yet.
A couple of folks took naps…I know that at least three people didn’t sleep last night because they were so excited. But this afternoon, everyone was very focused and the energy was high.
So my message to you is the same message I gave to the team this afternoon. This year’s the year to keep it real. We want to showcase how great our team is. It’s about being the best Artistic Team we can be. Sure, Redken and Paul Mitchell will be there. But this isn’t a competition. This show is about us. Think about excelling. Think about evolving.
Tonight we’re going to go to dinner as a team, then pile into one room (probably mine) and watch American Idol. See you tomorrow.
