Hair Cuttery Salons Partner with Krausey’s Koats to Help Folks Stay Warm This Winter

UPDATE: The coats are still being counted by the US Army, but there are already over 10,000 on the way to those who need them!

Hair Cuttery salons will not only be helping you to LOOK good this holiday season but will also help you to feel good, and to do some good as well. 700 Hair Cuttery salons throughout the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, New England and Chicago join a national effort called Krausey’s Koats. Krausey's Koats is an effort begun by begun by Radio personality Joe Krause of Philadelphia-–collecting gently used cold-weather gear for those in need this winter. Krausey’s Koats, with the support of the IBEW, began in Philadelphia 6 years ago and has collected over 15 thousand coats since its inception.

Hair Cuttery, the largest family-owned and operated chain of hair salons in the country, partnered with the Krausey’s Koats campaign last year in the Philadelphia area and successfully collected 6,500 coats for those in need there. “This year,” says Dennis Ratner, Hair Cuttery Founder and CEO, “with the expansion of the program into other regions of the country, we hope to collect even more cold-weather clothing for those in need. That would certainly make it a merrier holiday for all of us.”

Beginning on Friday, November 25th, Hair Cuttery started collecting gently used coats, jackets, hats, scarves or mittens at any of their 700 salons for those in need this Holiday season. Collections will end January 1st, 2012, and the winter gear will then be picked up by the United States Army. From there, the items will be delivered to local homeless shelters and charities that serve the poor and needy, such as: St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Salvation Army and Cradles to Crayons. So search your closets and help keep someone warm this Holiday season!
